Frequently Asked Questions
What are Open Graph tags?▼
Open Graph (OG) tags are HTML meta tags that control how your content appears when shared on social media. The key tags are og:title, og:description, og:image, and og:url. They go in the <head> section of your HTML page.
Why does my social share preview look different from what I set?▼
Social platforms cache OG data aggressively. After updating your OG tags, use platform-specific debugging tools to clear the cache: Facebook Sharing Debugger, Twitter Card Validator, or LinkedIn Post Inspector.
What is the recommended OG image size?▼
The recommended OG image size is 1200x630 pixels (1.91:1 ratio). This works well across Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp. Minimum recommended size is 600x315 pixels. Images should be under 8MB.
Do I need different images for each social platform?▼
You can use one image (1200x630px) for all platforms. However, Twitter supports its own twitter:image tag if you want a different image there. Most platforms will fall back to og:image if platform-specific tags are not set.
